Lee
I think £800 is a fair price for a finisher..... just not that one! I wouldn't take it away for £15 autolock, think of the back ache!
soletrading.com
Just think guys....for anyone wanting to start out on a budget this machine only has to work for a month or two, then could be upgraded and sold on,then another couple of months and a brand new one could be purchased from the #1guys at STANDARD....we all have to start somewhere....wish i could get my hands on scores of these machines...justsayingthatsall.... Lee
you get get a whole lot more for £800 than that, start up or not!
Lee
for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shoe-Repair-M ... 35ce740a95 still old split wheels, but comes with a press & is far more presentable for a new start up. no bids either with 2 hours to go, which also give reason to suspect that demand is low for such machines, that are old & out dated. autolock
I've sold a few machines over the last 12 -18 months all to new start ups or someone opening an additional shop but what I find strange is that the prices vary so much it's hard to put a value on some of these machines. robinh
Have you noticed the boxes on the photo ? Goodyear heels in the blue and yellow and Phillips in similar colours. Diamond Studded at a guess. Probably about 40 years old? anyone else remember them?. In those days they used to be packed in dozens not tens. and sold in pounds shillings and pence. ( Imaybe it's time I retired ? ) They might be worth more than the finisher . And what is the watering can for?

Lee
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1078908474 the seller contacted me trying to get a valuation for this one, they shipped it over to Cork themselves from Northampton some time ago. they seemed nice enough. However finding someone who wants it or wants to move it! is quite another story. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shoe-Repair-M ... 0976010448 this one intrigued me listed as a 700, it appears to be a narrow version with separate polisher on the right a sort of split 700, not seen one myself. Yes it is a split up machine that Whitfields made a few of, extremely poor extraction and overpriced. Ebay is silly now but occasionally there is a good one there. Lee
Never gave extraction a thought, presumably a special sized bag on the back that's either expensive or impossible?
keithm
They are around 40 years old now but still serviceable, just! Silly money being asked though Any machine of that age could have questionable extraction, old WHB 100/200, K&B 845/6, Standard 850/8500 and single shaft machines are generally in this catagory.
