StevenB
I was just finishing off a brass plaque & wondered if anybody else does as I do. Once I have finished polishing the front, I always flip it over & polish the reverse, then diamond engrave my contact details. So, does anybody else do this, or do you have any other 'odd' habits that you think you might be the only one doing? (Just in the course of your work though... this isn't the place to discuss THOSE habits)

StevenB
My theory is that when the plaque gets taken down in 20 years time, notwithstanding the fact that I will have retired the engraving on the back will still be visible And the polishing of the back is also important - it probably isn't even noticed by the customer, but looks so much better than if it were otherwise a bit tarnished, fingerprinty, or even worse - with any filling paint residue on it that hasn't been cleaned off. Dean
I used to do this occasionally if I had time...but I came to the conclusion that for the time involved/wear to the diamond, that it wasn't really worth it considering the chances of it conjuring repeat orders. Only my opinion....
Forest Cobbler
Surely, if you're going to polish and engrave the back, you want to be doing that before you do the front. Otherwise you risk marking the one bit that really matters, while you're doing something that will probably only be seen by the customer, who already knows where you are.
