robinh
One of my local customers has just bought a s/h Mastergrave Mk 5 pantograph engraver and is struggling to find out how to engrave tankards etc. Are there any instruction videos available or could someone give some advice on how to do it please ? Gray
How long have you got?.... He needs to centre up his letterset, Select the size 5-1 for example. Then you work from the centre outwards, ie. Robin Healy. Centre that in the clamps And engrave the "in H" then he needs to move the tankard and the letterset, to the right .Dot the i to line it up. Then engrave the Rob. Then move everything to the left dot the H to line it up then engrave the ealy....... FFS that doesn't make sense to me. I think it's right though. A soft touch cutter knob is handy for tankards. Or a home made one (mushroom) eh elfman? Not sure if I got my left and right right.
derek
don't forget he has to have the tankard set at 90 degrees, plus his engraving arm must be at 90 degrees when it touches the tankard, might be best if he can either pop along to a friendly forum member near him, or pay for a days training

hibsjo(SCO)
we used to just engrave the letter either side of the centre line then it didnt "wander" found out it was only lazy people who engraved more than the two characters at a time (just sayin) carry on! Gray
I thought that too but then I made a precision engineered weight.. ..to go on the diamond and found I could do more than one letter and it looked OK.
