Passing through London........

Recommended Posts

I was passing through London today & had a bit of time between trains at Liverpool Street so went for an amble. Interesting to see how many cobblers in such a small area! The first I came across was a Timspon, two operatives the first bonding soles in the repair section the second sitting idle in the key section, despite a dusty window display!

I passed a couple of independents both doing nothing and a green coloured narrow triangular unit, filthy dirty with what looked like a Mum & Son (about 12-14) working hard which was nice to see it looked well established & had work on the go. I also looked in a nice unit with SiServe equipment at the back of the station with two men, both idle chatting to "mates" from what I heard & would be enough to put anyone off approaching! The final thing I noticed on my random walk was a "James shoe care" shoe shine unit in a tower block. I noticed the smart sign "Open to the public" & then looked for the unit which was tucked to one side, inside the reception of the building again two workers sitting about!

I think it is far to say, it was not a busy day for the capitals cobblers! but what ever happened to self promotion?
