Ford KA - chip cloning problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Ok - tried today to clone a transponder from 56 plate Ford KA with genuine Ford key using a Zed Bull - The Zed tells me the chip is a Texas 4C - so using a Z4C the cloning was done - however the car will not start and the clock light flashes away.

Re read both transponders and both are show the same code(ie the original and the clone) - re tried using a TPX1 - got the same results.

Had the same problem with a 56 plate KA a few months ago - all other fords - no probs.

any ideas folks ?????

Btw - Merry Christmas ALL

Cheers spam

As far as I am aware on the Ford KA up to 2008 they still use the Z4C chip. If using the zed bull you must use the Z4C chip as the KA does not for some reason like the TPX1 transponders. Also check the key that you are using if the transponder is not close enough to the transmier on the vehicle this may cause the problem that you are having. I made sure that the transponder was pushed as far into the insert on the key.

As a curiosity I emailed keyline to see if they new of any issues with this using the 884 & they replied

Good morning Mr. Lee

about ford ka with 4c transponder (texas fixed code) we don't know any problems in cloning procedure with 884.

This type of transponder is mounted in ford ka from 1996 to 2008.

best regards

Luca

You've got to love broken English haven't you! so although you might not be able to do a remote, you can clone on the 884 with out stress!
