TSR
Hi all, I just thinking about branching into engraving and was wondering what would be the best machine to go for. We are limited for space in the shop but would like to be able to engrave things such us pens, rings, tankards and cups etc. Any advice would be great. Kind Regards Lewis. Lee
it seams the two that most go for for an all round machine are the is200tx from gravograph or the universal from U-Marq. this is backed up by the fact that both companies sponsor the forum, which means you can't go wrong with either. Arguments will rage for days as to which companies machine are best, but ultimately the is200tx is the one to buy Software is the biggest component with any machine make sure you get the level of software best suited to what you think you'll be doing. StevenB
As Lee says, the Universal is definitely the one to go for
hibsjo(SCO)
i think the 400 volume is the one you should definately go for! never need another machine after this GRAVOGRAPH all the way \:D/ carry on!
Gray
Here we go again. I am not biased in any way shape or form .....................but I would opt for the Universal,,not only will you get a brilliant machine and software but you will also get exclusive membership to the Vistool owners club,.. for a small cost............. Lee
By the way "branching out into" engraving was the biggest single wage rise I've ever had in one hit since working for myself. what ever machine you opt for its a good earner. Lee

Dean
Depends on your budget but as Hibs said, the IS400 Volume has got to be the best 'all round' machine on the market!

ANDY
as lee said, any engraving machine will make you money but you don't really want to limit yourself to flat work last thing you want is to turn away jobs when you have just set up your engraving service if space is an issue go for a universal as it will sit on a bench if you have a few square feet on the floor go for a IS200TX all joking aside, you do actually have to wear green tights when you become an engraver, it's the LAW.....although the vistool owners club tend to pip for a pink pair it's all down to personal preference good luck son

key cabin
The universal 300 from u-marq all the way, bought one last year and never looked back. By far the best machine on the market. Although i would like to say that if you are serious about buying a machine get the reps to come round to do a demo on both models and then make your mind up, you will be spending a lot of money so make sure YOU buy the engraver YOU are happy with.
