Michael
A customer has asked if I can get them a legge 2476 rimlock (not sash) that uses key no. A3. They bought 2 from the local builders merchants but couldn't see the key in the sealed packaging so he could get 2 locks with the same key. Does anyone have these locks in stock that I could buy or can I change the levers in one to match the other? Many Thanks
Count Muppet
If you cut extra off the side wards on the keys they should work both locks as long as there are no lever cuts....hopefully
grahamparker
Key numers 1-6 are the same height 15.6mm but with differing wards, key numbers 7-12 are a repeat of ward cuts 1-6 but with a height of 17.8mm so if you obtain a lock with keys 1-6 you can remove/bend down the wards to accept the number 3 key. Alternatively if you deal with Aldridges they will have them on the shelf you just need to ask one of the phone staff to ask for the locks with the key number you require, they have for me in the past,if not the specials dept will obtain them for you. Michael
Customer finally brought lock in but can't do what customer wants.I see what you mean about the height of the keys and it seems he wants to use the lock that uses the A3 key.If he wanted to use the other lock it would have been ok. Am I missing something with these locks but the ward cuts on the key don't actuall do anything. When I took the lock apart it is only the ftop flat edge of the key that throws the bolt. I don't have an account with Aldridges so if anyone can help me out with one of these locks that uses key number A3 I would be most gratefull....
