cobbler2u
Hi has anyone seen any change in trade this year. With the downturn and timps opening in tesco's. Things have been a bit slow so i thought i see how everyone else is seeing things. Spoken to a few people and they have all said this year has started a bit slower than usual. My rain dance seems to be working though

damen.rudi
Hello, hereby a reaction out of Belgium. Business are not so bad. We have to consider that the weatherconditions in january were not so wonderfull. Snow and ice don't make the customers go the way to the shoerepairer. The main problem I have at this moment is the bad quality of the presented shoes. English shoes like Clarks that are produced in Vietnam instead of the UK, Boss great in costumes, bad in shoes, Hush Puppies, a mark we knew as very good. I mean 30 years ago everyone adolescent in Belgium ran on them. Super shoes. Now I heard that the old factory doesn't excist anymore, shoes are fabricated in Italy, or perhaps even farder away. A lot of shoes to resole, most of them TR and the upper in PU or plastic. A lot of work and the idea that a real craftsman can not have any satisfaction on. I feel myself a chemist. This is how I feel about it in Belgium. Hope you get better shoes in to repair than this crap. Greetz
Count Muppet
same here, some shops only ever get plastic shoes in, takes longer to do so can seem quite busy even when you are not
