leathstitch
Hello everyone. I take part in living history reenactments where I make medieval turn shoes. Although I am able to use such items as wax twins to sew the sole to the upper, for authenticity I am trying to source wild boar bristles so that I can make a pair of partialy completed shoes for people to examine. I have only been able to find suppliers of nylon or wire bristles which are not what I am looking for. If anyone here knows of a suppliers of the bristles I'm after I would be very grateful. Thank you Steven Pole leathstitch

robinh
I have some in my stock of things that might just come back in to fashion. I think my grandfather bought them. ( he died in 1961) The last price I have is 16 shillings and 9 pence an ounce.
