Guest Barak
Hi all, My name is Barak I am a locksmith from Israel, untill now I supplied locksmith services only to the residential and industrial clients, right now I want to get into the vehicle locksmith field, and I have got confused from the variety of the equipment, in the beginning I loocked for a table cloning device starting from all the chinese knock off devices, but then I have realised that they are very limited in terms of capablilty to clone only 50% of cars, the original devices like ad900\tps5000\rw4 are realy expensive here, for example the ad900 cost 6200$ here and in the USA YOU CAN GET IT FOR ONLY 1500$, when I thought of buying it from there thru a friend who is also a locksmith there I found out that advanced diagnostics representative in Israel won't give any service and he won't open the local market function in the device (the said that the ad900 is activated by local market, e.g. devices in the US are capable of cloning only the local market car keys), and after all that I understood that there is no device in the market that can clone all keys and in the best case they are good for max. 75% of the vehicles, and above all that there are updates that cost extra money every few months. When I asked my American locksmith friend what to do he said that it will be best if I will buy a "on board" device like mvp pro\SBB , because they has the possibility of adding key \ remote and they give an option in the future to make keys in case there are no keys, he suggested me to start with good chinese TCODE device which cost only 370$ and is making about 90% of the cars... I hope for your advice, Barak
Lee
I'd have thought the higher cost of set up could in some ways be advantageous because less people would have invested so the market share would be greater & subsequently so to would your charges?????? AD all the way, back up when it goes pear shape is worth its weight in gold! Good luck Lee
Mick Friend
You are treading into a minefield - US based cars and UK based cars are not the same European cars also differ - the equipment also differs. The kit costs thousands and making the wrong/poor choice is money down the pan. The knock off copies whilst they seem a cheap soultion can cause more problems than they solve, I am now hearing about fried ECU's and even a wiring loom fire. You need to do an awful lot of research into the cars that are around you make, model and year - then find out what system (if any) they have and then what equipment you will need. The cloning equipment is just a start - key machines and computers are another. in the UK a basic mobil find/clone/progremme lost key kit in a van around £15 and upwards. There is an auto lockmsithing show at Manchester airport early November if you can afford the flight - many questions could be answered but you will still need to know what type of kit is fitted in the cars
Guest Barak
hi, Basically you are right the price of the devices is the only buffer in making the market flooded, but in this prices, it's not financially wise - because the amount of keys I will have to make in order to cover the investment is huge considering the blanks and the advertise that I will have to make - right now I aprox. 3 clients a week that call me regarding key cloning... I have a colleague that offered me to buy his JMA 1007 cloning device, I have searched the internet for such a device and did not find anything - maybe somone heard about it? how is it? rapidlocks
due to so many people being unable to attend show as not members of an approved association, Tradelocks have set 2 dates following the show , on the 9th and 10th november, where people unable to meet mr Li the inventor and manufacturer of lishi tools at the show, can book and attend a session with him on these days instead , anyone interested contact tradelocks as places filling fast. Mr Li will be running a number of master classes on these days , as well as demonstrations and meeting and talking with his customers, there will also be photo opps with queenie and li on these days. These are being held at the reebok stadium in bolton, and do need booking, i believe they are charging the same £20 a head as at the show, with all candidates getting the same discount voucher and the same freebie handouts and the same tool discounted prices on these days.
