Guest k@lsb
Hi was just wandering what you charge to fit watch batteries flip back and screw on type ..heres a senario..a lady walks in and gives you 20 watches to put batteries in ,when she hands them to you you explain watch batteries start from 3.50 and fitting charges are 1.50 for flip top,and 1.95 for screw on...you spend 45 minutes fitting batteries..only to find out none of the watches work..each batterie has been tacken out of its packet,do you charge customer for fitting charge and battery ,or do you tell customer that there is no charge for youre 45 minutes of youre time,............or as you explained the fitting charge at the start of the transaction, you only charge for fitting each battery..not battery itself even though each battery is now out of its sealed packet...what are youre shop instuctions regarding this situation???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Lee
I take the ruff with the smooth & set my prices accordingly. if a watch is faulty for any reason, you don't lose the battery you can fit it to the next one requiring that size. I always quote for repairs, which often turns loses to extra profits. I don't give a price made up of a battery & fitting charge, just a single price, it makes little or no difference how the back is held on either so I don't charge a different price. the only Add on I give are for pressure testing or additional repairs. ironplanet uk900
If watch don't work I quote for repair, if customer doesn't want repair, then there isn't a charge. How many times does a customer bring in 20 watches ??? and how unlucky they are all faulty, so a bit of a shite scenario in the first place.. Lee ok..this is my thought on this situation,if you make it quite clear to the customer, they can purchase and fit the battery themselves at only 3.50or 4.00 or 4.50 depending on the battery they need,if they can is up to them but would also explain that we can fit it for them for a xtra 1.50 or 1.95 depending on back on the watch etc,or we can put it on our battery testing machine same as youres, but this wont tell them what size battery is in the watch,so this really will be of little good to them unless they can take the back of before entering the shop, the choicie is theres,if it turns out the watch is faulty, charging them 1.50 or 1.95 is actually going to save them money and time,as apposed to them buying the batery for 3.50/4.00/4.50 ,this charge is for our time doing the job and skill?...is the same as calling a locksmith out driving for 35mins, on arrival being told by the house owner sorry i dont need you now i found my keys???..dont worry love i dont mind you getting me out for no reason....im sure a charge would be incurred?..pps we have trial run this for a while...and not one customer...questioned the reason for the charge as they all appreciatted our time is money..and were very pleased they did not spend 3.50/4.00/4.50...suppose its the same if you get youre phone unlocked and it is barred...thats not the guys fault whos unlocking it....you still have to pay the full amount for unlock as his time and skill has been used to unlock it...as unblocking is not unlocking unlocking allowes use on another network ..unblocking is 5 years in jail.......think 1.50/1.95...is little for our time and knowledge and skill...just my opinion? Guest k@lsb
FFS, by the time you've explained all that garbage to every customer wanting a battery, you could have actually done some work, instead of boring yourself or the customer to death with pathetic similar scinario stories.... lolalot actually thats why i have all my staff put a cork up there arses, and a elastic band around there genitals..so they dont go to the toilet as well in the shops time...some serious time lost each year....Planet...next year..im going to start..delivering customers watches to there door and there shoes, and engraving and polish and anything else i can think of in our brand new company van.....WHY ..i here you ask?............because i can due to the amount our shops have made being paid for all those watches that come in,and are are beyond economical repair ,or on the profit we make selling them a new watch ,inc the discount we give them either 1.50 or 1.95 of the price of a new watch bought from us that day..(as alot of customers think its better than paying out 1.50 or 1.95 and having nothing ro show for it.....................so you see the 15seconds it takes to tell them about our charges adds up to one thing..great service and a WIN WIN situation.....hope this helps improve youre shops turnover so you can trade in youre car for scrapage package being offered by the garages...and get a decent motor...theres another deal that customers had to listen to on a garage shop floor, and of course it was a stupid idea!!!!NOT!!!! have a good week xx
ironplanet uk900
Jesus, what a load of tripe... All I'm saying is your pricing is too involved and complicated, Customers don't want to hear all that mumbo jumbo, about £1.95 for this and £3.50 for that, but you only pay £1.95 if it doesn't work, but if it does you pay £3.50... It's unprofessional and stinks of cowboy trader.
