chas47
Hi, I want to fit some jewellers brass plates to wood jewellery boxes.size of plates approx 60mm x 25 mm The jewellery boxes are of good quality. Would double sided tape be best ? Many thanks.
keithm
I think I would be inclined to lightly punch the plates and then pin them. That material is pretty soft and the shield pins go through it It would look a lot more profesional imho
Lee
if the area your putting them on is flat then double sided tap would be OK, If you do choose to pin them on (more permanent) then get yourself a 1.1 mm drill (not usually the sort of size you can get in your local B&Q, you'll need an engineer suppliers) & use the small shield pins you can get from your brass plate suppliers. Nailing straight through the plate with no pre-drilled hole will A. course it to distort, which will reflect the light poorly B. Potentially course damage to the joins on the box, because it will require more force. Lee
Gray
I find the webbing tape from Mastergrave very strong and also it can be removed easily should the plates ever need to be removed
Jay
I find the webbing tape from Mastergrave very strong and also it can be removed easily should the plates ever need to be removed if it can be removed easily, how can it be very strong? kev
I know what you mean rlj. It is really strong, but when you do need to remove it it comes off really cleanly. We use it for holding engraving plates on our machines whilst they're being engraved - much easier and quicker than messing about with clamps. Oh, and we sell it cheaper than Mastergrave too!
