for tankards and annual bases i set the x and y both to 40. have a dedicated cutter for bakerlite bases that i can throw in know will cut perfect every time and keep a noshed up bakerlite base to test cutters when you need a new one

set your retract to around 6 or 8mm for round work as sometimes if job is slightly squiffy when clamped one end will raise as it rotates

have cut down the diagonal tightening rod that pokes out to the left, so the cylindrical attachment can move further to the right

also i have marked a level line on the wall behind machine so i can line up tankards and such without a spirit level

have a very small spirit level where i have added tiny 3mm blocks to either end so you can sit it on curved surfaces without it falling off

good for brandy glasses and cups, this hangs on ball chain on the machine so i never lose it

spring tip and pledge for glass, slow x/y to 8mm/sec otherwise diamond will dance around on surface. keep my glass diamond well away from others so it doesn't get faffed up on medals or summit

clear tape comes in very handy, although some may disagree :-{{{

some useful advice there thanks, those are the kinds of tricks the manufacturers can't give you.

My lads & lasses have just been in & it looked like we where having a family prayer meeting, with all our heads bowed over the machine as it was giving us a display!

unless you have the telephone corded type cable bewteen your rotary attachment - you must never unplug it with the power switch on! :-({|=

this will blow your mother board and cost a small fortune to repair... give me a call if this happens, i may be able to help!

and if you dont have this cable i have some - (at the right price) :wink:

Thanks to all those who have given me hints & tips both here on the forums & in the chat room, over the early days of my TX understanding!

I wanted to give a special thanks to ANDY who has really helped me out a load! giving me a epos for a salver jig and some help with my vectorising skills!
