The bonding process I use for DM unit replacement is:-

Knife off old unit close to black welt area.
Finely scour all traces of unit material from welt.
Clean bonding area of new units with Kumsoff (do not scour units, period) & allow to dry.
Clean welt area on footwear with Kumsoff & allow to dry.
Apply PA5050 (or your favorite adhesive) to both surfaces & allow to dry.
Heat activate the units, insert the EVA filler in the forepart of unit & attach to footwear.
Allow to cool, then trim using the multi-pipe cutter for perfect finish.

That's just a sequence of events Tel, nothing different from everyone else who is glueing them.

Know what I did with mine when they needed repair..... threw em in the bloody bin cos the insoles had disintegrated into the voids of the PVC unit. Could not be bothered to spend the time reinstating them, very over-rated boots, OK for a Fiver but not worth much more. Anyone with sweaty feet never gets to wear them out as they go from the inside first. I used to advise customers to put leather insoles in as soon as needed.

And that bloody serrated cutter is leathal in trainees hands.
