Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
I was not aware that Hasall did a tungston Groover!!! new one on me. I still have one of the 1st ever made, given to me by one of the Hasall brothers when he came to purchase machinery of me. One of the best shoe repair families ever to walk the planet and I owe my enthusiasim to them. You can of course get a new blde they dont cost the earth, alternatevely ask the local Saw Sharpener. You can as an alternative use shakeproof washers also know as Star washers, these have serrations allaround the edge and are available from Nut & Bolt suppliers, use 1 for a fine groove and up to 3 for a wide groove. Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
You will probably find that it was sold by Standard Engineering. The Hasall has less teeth and could be filed by hand, the rest of the story is a copy off the original Hasall idea.
petercoulson
possibly the one you have was either k&b or whitfield, both are different sizes. i think we may have k&b ones left but no whb sized ones. might be worth giving neil a call in the office 01162717152
Happy Dude
peter/hugh, the groover i have came with our standard lynx machine about 22 years ago and it's lasted til now amazingly enough, it's been on the way out for a while but it's really bad now, loads of smoke from leather and a lot of drag on rubber. i'll try standard..... Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
22 years!!!!! it must be a Standard Tungsten. Although Iwould have thought most wholesalers would have stocked this item!!! (may be wrong, not been around much).
