Guest Iain Cheall
Thought of my best buy until I got this gizmo engraving glass was a complete nightmare I would try to persuade customers that anything metal is far better than glass to try and get out of it. But since I acquired a feather touch it has turned things right around. so the feather touch attachment for gravo machines is my best buy
ironplanet uk900
My worst investment ever was buying a Quick plate machine some 15 years ago. £2400 and selling it to an old bloke for £150 2 years ago, good riddance.
Lee
Best buy, for the modern era has to be my computer. Book work went from a full weekend a month, to 1/2 an hour a week. websites brought in customers from all over the world. Computer engraving made hours of standing at the engraver into minutes of enjoyment. the computer reduced the cost of some purchases with the web. And it brought into my life the forum, and all for a few hundred quid. Lee
ironplanet uk900
Yep, thats got to be the best investment any of us have made. What do you do your books with Lee?? excell/sage/quick books......... I've always used Simplex D books, but are looking to change. uk900
Lee
I use Simplex, but noticed recently the website and support numbers have gone! so gradually the system will become out of date I also have a copy of sage instant accounting but its to complicated for my books, so I stick with Simplex. Before the computer I used the Simplex double entry manual book, which why I started using Simplex on the computer. Lee

hibsjo(SCO)
Your accountant can't do it all, you have to pay the bills and provide the figures & do your own banking at least. Whats there to do? Moneys banked everyday. Bills paid on statement (most of the time ) You guys are wasting your valuable time. VAT,WAGES,PAYE I dont do anymore! (except to pay it) Accountant gets every thing in a box every quarter. Book keeping a thing of the past! My previous accountant charged me £50 a month to do my tax returns, I had to do my VAT returns hes been dumped. My present accountant charges me for all above work and he also does my wifes two shops as well for £70 quid a month. carry on!
