I have recently tried a anti tarnish spray on infilled engraved brass and have found that the paint has a chemical reaction and pealed. does anyone have any advice on what I could use that wouldn’t have a chemical reaction The paint I used to infill is Hammerite metal paint. thanks in advance. Michael Posted March 8, 2022 Report Share Posted March 8, 2022 I use cellulose paint and I don't use any clear top coat. They can then be re-polished and paint refilled without the hassle of stripping off the lacquer first. Hammerite should be fine without protecting.
