Anti tarnish with paint infill chemical reaction.

Hi all. 

I have recently tried a anti tarnish spray on infilled engraved brass and have found that the paint has a chemical reaction and pealed. 

does anyone have any advice on what I could use that wouldn’t have a chemical reaction  

The paint I used to infill is Hammerite metal paint.

try not to use spray. use liquid clear varnish with small brush

I use cellulose paint and I don't use any clear top coat.

They can then be re-polished and paint refilled without the hassle of stripping off the lacquer first.

Hammerite should be fine without protecting.

We tried all sorts of coatings and gave up, nothing looks as good as just paint infill and polished finish.

Yes they discolour but clean up nice if looked after.
