beware Posted January 10, 2016 Report Share Posted January 10, 2016 If you can get one, usb to parallel is better (big port). If trying serial (smaller port) then the serial cable should be crossover (null modem), and you need a usb to serial adaptor with an FTDI chipset. If the PC is very new, sometimes we find we are unable to get a decent connection. It's something to do with modern motherboards. You can upgrade IS200s to USB. Depending on the age, the cost is between 800 and 1800 of the top of my head. I think the cut off is 2006. Older than that we need to change 2 boards.
