jacko
Picked and decoded drivers door today, tried key in door, solid no movement at all but worked good in ignition. All doors locked except drivers door. Anyone come across this ? jm
derek
Possibly seized due to never having used the key to open the door only the remote buttons?
Neal Southern
If you picked the drivers door I assume the lock did turn. In that case it cant be seized, must be another issue with the lock or key.
grahamparker
You will be possibly 1 cut or depth out somewhere, but with the ignition being used for 13 years it will be worn out and allow the key to work, but the door lock will have hardly had any use because of remote use to open the door. How many cars do you come across where the remote fails and the car door lock is seized solid through lack of use and lubrication especially old Renaults. What Neal said, but interestingly I had a lost key job on a 2004 Golf today and picked and decoded the drivers door lock out of the door. As it happens although the barrel turned the mechanism at the back of the barrel that operated the door opening doesn't move when the key is turned in the barrel, so I presume the link at the back of the barrel is bust. Could this be the same problem I wonder? In any case, it worked in the ignition and other door no problems
