Hi,

Been trying to decode with Lishi, manage to get it picked alright

but have messed up 3 keys without success.

Went back to work shop picked and decoded a spare lock, put key

for that lock in machine and got code but it's not the code I got with

the Lishi.

Anyone got any ideas?

TIA

I got it decoded with the new double lifter 2015 pick on a 2002 vehicle.

The single lifter didn't work in any direction.

Thanks for your answer.

Hi Jacko

im a little confused by the above post where you say you have used the new twin lift vag 2015 pick on an old 2002 HU66 lock , if the case it would be the wrong pick for the lock as the vag 2015 lock is not an hu66 lock thus this pick isnt for the hu66 lock.

or did you mean the twin lift hu66 pick ? if so what was the true key cuts and what did you read with your tool

For most the single lift design of HU66 tool will always give the most accurate decode as it doesnt get compromised by a heavy hand , the single lift tools are more robust if a non gentle hand is used . The traditional twin lift tools that utelise the small snib designs to pick and read a lock are susceptable to miss reads after picking with a heavier hand , it only takes the lifting snib to be distorted or bent fractionally by heavy picking pressure just a tenth of a mm for it to read a whole cut out on the grid , these tool designs are suited to a gentle touch .

Its not always possible to use a light tension on some locks , but in such a situation a technique like with picking mortice levers is required , where you back off the tension as you pick a wafer re-applying tension as its picked , this is an essential technique to master to preserve the decode accuracy of the twin lift tools decode.

the single lift is far more robust and is far harder to distort the tip , thus the decode read is far more accurate , whilst holding the lock in the open position read each position in the opposite direction to which you picked it and it rarely gives a miss read , it is the prefered design by most .

the twin lift gives an accurate read as long as the snibs dont get distorted via heavy use .

Warren , The vag 2015 twin lift and single lift tools will enter the old hu66 lock smoothly and with the twin lift you will make contact with all or most of the wafers , i tested this last night after reading this thread now back from mla show , i was able to pick the old hu66 lock with it , however as you would expect this is no where near as simple as with the correct tool and of course the decode is no where near as a different profile and different depths , but you can insert it smoothly and even pick with it with patience but you will never decode with it .

if i have read the post correctly then i am assuming that its a matter of jacko using the wrong pick on the wrong lock , and he has attempted to pick and decode an hu66 lock with a vag 2015 tool , i also assume that its the original lishi tool with li head on it if the case as this is the only one that has a decode grid on it despite it being a pick only , GL remove the grid for now until fully released to decode as pick only .

its only an assumption of course as im going by what was written , if im correct he needs either the single lift or twin lift HU66 pick for the 2002 lock and not the vag 2015 tool which will currently be for 2014 on polo and golf using the new narrower vag lock , so looks like a simple confusion over tools and using the correct tool on the lock will overcome this , but hats off for having the patience to pick the lock with this tool as a sloppy fit and demonstrates determination and patience . its a mistake im sure many will make as the 2015 vag doesnt have its own unique keyblank reference as yet .

i tried the new wendt hu66 pick at MLA show yesterday

http://www.keyprint.co.uk/2-in-1-smart-decoders

it is brilliant

carry on!

These are excellent tools , made by auto smart in china and sold under the super tools name , if wanting volume they will engrave your logo on them , you can also buy these direct from hk lock at around £40 each http://store.hklock.com/product-2344-1.html .

im glad someone has taken the brand on as they have combined the li blade with the new eco decoder style grid , ive had the super tools branded tool for some time since they first released them last year and find them good quality tools to use .

Hi,

I have a HU66 Lishi with single lifter with what I would call a hammer head

used it for years with good success, codes I got on this lock both towards pick line and against

were wrong.

I have a HU66 Lishi with two lifters with a little studs at the end which picked and decoded

this 2002 lock first time and the code was nothing like the code from single lifter.

I am as perplexed as anyone, that is why I posted.

is it a gen 1 or 2 lock , i suspect gen 2 on that year 2 up and 2 down . all i can think then is you have a worn lock , as if you normally pick and decode then a pig of a lock . what is thetrue key and what is the readings you get with the 2 tools ? are they GL tools , OL tools , auto smart tools  or from china reseller
