Jay
Just had to replace the carbide cutter on my cylinder machine. Before the old one goes in the bin, is it worth paying to have it sharpened? If so, who offers this service & how much does it cost? Cheers Jay

LockandKey
Can you sharpen Idea & unoode cutters? If you've used the cutter to replacement then it's paid you back many many times - just get e new one? Flogging a dead horse? Would you put used oil into your engine? Would you put used oil into your engine? No I wound't put used oil in a car! Its not the same thing as resharpening a cutter. I'm no saying I'm not getting enough out of them. I'm asking a question because we've got 2 Idea's which we've recently changed cutters & same thing again on Unocodes. The Idea cutters are £225.18 each & the Unocode are £178.25 each. Why not look at getting these sharpened if you can instead of laying out £800 every time?

Have you tried using this cutter for the unocode ? http://www.aldridgesecurity.co.uk/p-1468-fraises-outils-unocode-u01w-carbide-cutter.aspx I was reliably informed that this is where Silca get there cutters from (not sure if that's true) but look up Fraises and Outils on Google. I have bought some Triax cutters direct that no one stocked and got a great price and speedy delivery.
