Forest Cobbler
Hi Has anyone figured out how to engrave on the inside of those adjustable baby bangles? We have a bangle and ring clamp from U-marq which is brilliant for solid bangles, but you can't get a grip on the adjustable ones, they just distort. Any helpful hints will be much appreciated. Thanks, Valerie
jayke
Never tried to do them myself personally so not really sure how they engrave but can you put a cable tie around the bangle to stop it moving? or is that a stupid idea? lol

hibsjo(SCO)
if you leave the spindle long enough you can engrave them as a flat plate and "twist" the bangle out of the way or hand engrave or desolder the clasp and engrave as a flat item and resolder carry on! StevenB
I've only ever offered to engrave these on the outside on the short section at the end of the bangle where there is no pattern. Trying to do the inside is a non starter, as you say they are too flimsy & flexible to allow you to secure them in the machine to engrave. As for desoldering & resoldering, you're a braver man than me to try that - or perhaps just more experienced at soldering...
Forest Cobbler
I'm so fed up with turning them away that I keep trying to find a way to hold them in. I did actually have some success this time by holding it in one of the clamps from the watch bench, and using the diamond on the inside ring attachment so I could come at it from the side. Fortunately they only wanted two short names and a date, so I could do one name then move it round to do the next one. Doing longer words or a whole message might not work so well, so I'm still open to other suggestions. Cutting it open and resoldering it, isn't really an option for me as my soldering skills are quite rustic, and I don't think my customers would be very happy. I'm not sure that the cable tie idea is completely stupid, it would stop any back and forth movement, if nothing else. The Boss is determined to invent a whole new attachment so I stop moaning about not being able to do them. We must get at least one a month through the door.
