Loose linkage between bow&tube of a tubular key

I sub tubular key cutting out, thus I have little experience.

 

I had 2 copies of a Camlock key made. The client mentions, that the linkage between bow and tube has become a bit wobbly on one of them.

 

Is that a precursor to the key falling apart? How are the 2 bits of a rpt key bonded together?

Yes it almost certainly will eventually, not sure how they are fixed tbh but once there is movement the

key can break away from the head quite easily.

Easy fix mate, get them back and I will sort them for you.

 

 

How do you fix them ??.

smack them with a hammer they are a clip fit just need minor adjustment

what size hammer? will 16Ib do the job

I thought you meant the inner spline coming loose. My mistake.
