Guest Klazykobbler
Hi Guys n Gals customer came in with a cavity key for a vauxhall. I always check my the calibration of me machine before cutting these. So i cuts the key, customer trys it comes back it'll open the lock but wont close it ??? so i put it back the machine, recut , went out with the customer to the car, same again will open the car but wont lock the bugger. Luckily i've known this customer for a long time and he thought it was funny but i had to admit i dont know why it aint working properly. any ideas ? i'm just baffled. its 55plate vauxhall , its the thinner type cavity key and im using a jakey colt with the thin guide and cutter (obviously ) klazy
Count Muppet
I had the same happen on a smart car, although when checking the customers original it was the same. So that's probably useless info for you. Although may be worth checking the original key
grahamparker
Did it work everything else ??. Always try a lubricant (not wd40) we use either kaba lock oil or abus ps88 spray. I had an old omega that did the same but i had cut the key on my triax to code and it was exactly the same but fitted everything perfectly except locking the drivers door. So a little spray of oil and jiggle the key until it locked then repeated a few dozen times(may require a little pressure). Within 5 minutes the lock was working perfectly with the new key.
