stevecoco
Recently sent a cup to Swatkins who did a very nice repair job for one of my customers, similar to this problem. have a chat with them.
Michael
If it's a nickel plated band then either replace or Swatkins will polish out then re-plate, check price difference. If it's silver plated, use a polishing mop on a grinder wheel and buff it out and re-engrave,I did this yesterday for a customer. If you haven't got a polishing mop have a word with your local jeweller,he may have one.
grahamparker
As Steve said Swatkins are awesome but expensive. We recently sent a 16" silver plated cup to them that had tanished really badly and they removed all traces of engraving and replated the cup.It cost around £120.00 + vat but looked superb and would have cost well over £400 for a new cup in the same style.
