kirkybob
just had a request for padlocks which can be engraved. Ideally a padlock that is completely plain. Rather strange to me but somthing to do with funerals ? Anyone have a supplier for these ?
grahamparker
Any brass padlock is easily engravable we have just supplied 1864 to a local oil refinery. If you don't want any manufacturers name on the padlock you can either use the sks economy (elis) padlocks but they are very thin so you rick hitting the plug if you go to deep. Or take any padlock and grind the surface use a smooth band on a finisher and with a little practice you will get a great finish ready for engraving. I think you'll find it will be called a love padlock which has been covered already in this post viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6316&p=58700&hilit=love+padlock#p58700
