The quality of era products took a nose dive about 10 years ago when the

invincible halved in price overnight.

Chinese manufaturing of the parts, stamping spacing dents into wafers rather than using a brass

spacer as they used to.

We had profits that would jam straight out of the box, returned loads back to aldridges.

The only ERA products now stocked are the budget 3 lever sash range and the fortress as customers want

direct replacements.

The euro cylinders can be hit and miss and even applying the slightest pressure when cutting can

result in a key only working from one side and snagging on the other, even when using genuine blanks.

We don't usually get many cylinder keys back when cutting era but we go slower than normal and this

usually avoids any problems.

Try getting some genuine blanks as the 25b and universals don't make a snug fit in the plug.

I go with that I only ever used the universals if very, very stuck. just a bit of under/over cut will affect one side - slight tolerence in the pins sizes - I would have popped round and had a go with wiggling up and down to determine if it was over/under or maybe the shoulder is worn.

WD40 or one of the others cures many evils

Not that I'm getting into that argument again.
