Centring The Machine To Vice Unit

    Switch the machine ON
When the message "Gravograph - Version xxx" appears on the LCD screen you have 3 seconds to press the "#" key.

The message "Screw Z = xxx" appears on the screen.

Press the "Tick" key to validate.

The message "Spindle Orig. Adjust - Press Tick to confirm" appears.

Press "Tick" key to confirm and spindle will move to the centre of engraving area.

Using the standard flat plate jigs, clamp in an up-turned nose cone.
Manually lower the diamond point and check that it is centred in the vice along the X & Y axis. If not, jog the spindle using up/down, & left/right arrows to align.

When you are satisfied that the diamond point is centralised, press the "Tick" key to validate.

Press the "Tick" key once more to confirm the new origin.

The message "Ready to Receive" will appear on the screen and the machine is now ready for engraving.

origin is fine its a long line of text which if not 100% straight is spotable when compared to base of the plate if you know what i mean.on smaller length plates of upto 100mm its ok

i think there is a tiny give in the shaft which i loosen to bring the vice up or twist it..not that i can feel it but cant think of any other reason why it wont engrave spot on in line as shown in preview..

Hakeemz, Two things.

1. I had this problem a couple of days back, could not understand why lines were not straight.

It turns out that it was the allen screw that holds the handle onto the vice mechanism had come loose. I just pushed it back on and tightened the screw, hey presto.

2. I bet your calling me a few choice names, I am waiting to change my CD burner (knacked) before I can send you some good discs etc.
