k4mrc
with all the hassle of staff contracts of employment etc, i have a guy who i have known 20 years in my town who is calling on me next week with a view to 'arrange' my staff's contracts of employments, statements - this is making a list of 'duties' of job descriptions - this has been long winded for myself as the list seems endless! what do you guys who employ do? do you have standard letters, or comphrehensive? i used to have a set letter stating hours pay etc; but this is now out of date! so in short - what list of duties do we have to put on there contracts? shoe repairs - keys - engraving - customer care - shop cleaning - stock taking - serving - cash handling - security - ? petercoulson
are you a member of the fsb? if so they have specimin contracts. what normally happens is you have a contract of employment which is quite a few pages long then you would have something like a role description that the contract refers to. the role could list everything but i believe most are general like shoe repairs key cutting engraving but then add the rider like 'and anything reasonable to do with thiese services that the shop may offer customers' good idea to ensure that the contract refers to upkeep/maintenance of machines etc
k4mrc
this is on-going, seems contracts - statements -job description is really a lucrative business to be in. i have just had my second meet with this guy, and my contract of employment is totally out of date - he is still doing my jod description forms for me, but advised to re-do the contracts - i said "how much?" and then proceeded to fall off the chair! he estimated something like 9 hours at a cost of "£80-00" per hour! i am not carrying on - i even suggested redunancies! wow! we are not charging enough for ANY of our services! i mean, any one can download off the internet - but at £80 per hour! any how i just called fsb back and will download off of them! my job description will still go ahead as there is a specific reason behind them! what a daft state of affairs when government make us all have to foloow this line!
