Lee
you haven't put enough pressure on the cutter, I'm NO expert as my am fairly new to vinyl myself but I found the glue behind the surface would allow the bits you wanted to keep to lift. I put just a little more pressure on the cutter & it made weeding out much easier. I use one of these hexwt (page 92 here) to hold the fine bits I do want & the tweezers below on the same page to lift the bits I want to scrap. kev
I just use a good old fashioned Swann Morton scalpel. Kev
robinh
Re Vinyl weeding. Apologies for late reply. I find it easier on very small jobs to do the following:- First remove the tiny unwanted centres from A's. P's, R's O's etc. Put application tape over item to be weeded and squeegee ( ?) down firmly. Turn work over and remove waxed backing paper. Fasten vinyl to worksurface sticky side up. Remove unwanted vinyl by peeling off making sure you pull into the "open" sections of the letters. This method should allow you to keep the letters in place and ready for application. Works for me.
