had a conversation with some one today about the prices we all charge for toe prices against the price we charge for stick on soles.

the topic was - why charge less for toe pieces when they take longer to repair?

which got me thinking - perhaps we should charge the same price for toe pieces that we charge for stick on soles?

what do you guys do?

i dont think toe pieces take as long as sos, and not only that you use more glue and sos are more expensive than a pair of toe pieces

toe pieces in my view are one of the easiest jobs we have to do . what i do to keep the cost down is make my own up from resin sheeting ,less waste and less trimming

A Customer wouldn't ware that(punn unintended) Charging the same for toes as you would Soles is a nonsense in my view.

You wouldn't charge the same for 1/2 soles as you would through soles.

There can be the exception to the rule.

Gents Leather stitches toes can be just as time consuming as half soles.(does anyone still do them).

Some ladies shoes/boots are so badly worn at the toes that major work is required, this can mean longer time is needed than the time to do SAS work.(and far more skill needed).

Not the case Hugh, because if they are that badly worn, you would charge more for the repair, whether they had toes or soles. The toe would still need repairing. So the extra cost would be on the toe piece or the sole.
