London's best?

The wear aspect would depend entirely upon several factors, The size of the person, the gait, the compound of the sole, the surface generally walked on (concrete or soil) and the period of time the boots are in use.

As these are all unknown factors a time scale of wear would be impossible to estimate.

On the top quality rubber (not synthetic) then on average a 12 month guarantee should be reasonable although I would expect my own boots to last for 3 years if only being worn a couple of days per week on a mixed surface of Tarmac Concrete and Grass. However I doubt if anyone will give any indication to you that the soles will last that long so I would be satisfied that I could get a 12 month guarantee.

i didnt say anything about expecting a g'tee of 3 or 4 years. i would never expect more than a 12 g'tee. but i would hope that it would be a safe bet they'd last 3 or 4 years with only moderate use.

that's how long most shoes ive ever had have lasted so is it not safe to assume the same from a repaired pair?

thanks all

Safe to assume, but dont expect. I have a pair that the screwed on commando soles have lasted 18 years of occasional use but I would not expect another pair to last that long.

You have the answers here and on the Fashion forum so it is now just a matter of picking the repairer that has been recommended, putting your views accross to them and trusting that the job will be to your satisfaction.

Just a customer requiring help gents.

I for one offered that help hugh, including local contacts on the topic & via a PM, offering to do the job which included the price & unit image.

Having seen the continuation of the topic I would also like to retire from this conversation & job.
