ironplanet uk900
Just been making another plaque for my display boards, I made this one with the intention of infilling it. But looking at it I think it looks quite classy without the infill. What do you think.

ironplanet uk900
I know I've got a different engraving machine to you UK,but how do you do this raised engraving? Is it standard on Gravo machines? You should be able to do this on your engraver Michael, what machine have you got!!! Simply cut out all but the text and your border. leave it mate and where do you get the corian sheeting from? how big are the sheets? and do you use the varga to cut them? The sheeting comes from http://www.about-corian.co.uk/ and they are worktop size, although they would probably cut them up for you. Its expensive though, but works out alot cheeper that precut shapes I cut it with my Varga saw, although I had to buy the big one to do it Its nice to be able to offer any size, its a cracking line
kobblers
you can also use a good jigsaw, a router or a circular saw with the right blade to cut corian into manageable size pieces
Michael
Just had a go at this....not bad for a first time, but not sellable yet!! UK, how do you get the smooth finish where the material has been cut? I got marks from the toolpath. Did you use a bold font or a straight cutter? Maybe a routermill cutter? Some of the thin bits on the letters are missing. What depth did you cut to?
