Yes -Thankyou for the mention above - our 1A keys are around that price ...

 Please becarefull

With some cheaper keys on the market - People have purchased these from different places - and have been complaining !

Reason being is - when the keys are being cut in the machine - there is a possibility for them to bend or break completely ! This in turn can mean - to cut just one copy of the end customers key - you may use 2 / 3 / 4 of the cheaper blanks around hence a 5p or 6p key cost - could turn into a 24p 1A key :!: :!: :!:

Also  another comment we have been passed is that once cut - there is also a possiability that some cheaper keys will bend very easy - EG in customers pockets when sitting down etc ..

And - customers have also been able to bend the keys before they are cut in their own hands

Please note - these are not my comments at all - I have had alot of customers buy keys at cheaper prices away from us and then come back to us and replace all these stocks for stronger keys .....

 I don`t mind where any1 buys their keys from - but I did want to mention we had alot of people complaining to us about cheaper keys on the Market - hence to help you in your choice ...

i don't think i can ever recall any of the keys i buy elsewhere cheaper breaking, bending or misbehaving in any way due to the supposed 'quality' of the metal being used to create the blanks

i'd like to know who's complaining about blanks bending or breaking, they should be approaching the companies involved and complaining to them.

i don't personally know any key cutters who've had problems such as those mentioned above under the reasons given, granted, there may have been problems on occasion but they could be put down to other reasons such as bad batches etc.

couldn't this just be scaremongering?

1000 % No ... / Sorry if it sounds like that - I just want to inform people on my own findings - and try and help out .

But just to help a little more - I know - we also have been sent samples ourselves of 1A keys from a supplier for us to sell cheaper but 1st thing I did myself- (And this is ony becasue people were coming back to us and telling me from there own key cutting) - I got the key " Uncut " and bent it in my Fingers

I have been honest with my reply and Not trying to scare any1 at all - these are 100% truths paseed on to me from other key cutters - I did not know of the possiable problems out there with these until our customers came back to us .. I do know there were also some lines of keys on the market that now have been stopped due to this very reason. (And I will say - I think they were made in China or the far east - But sorry not 100% sure on this part)

Hope this helps a little more on this :!:

Guest samtheman

talking of "these cheap blanks" it seems to me the people who complain about them are always the competitors of other co's

even the rep from any other co - always critize the quality

i have found when the blanks 1st came out Yes, that was true - but not on all the blanks just one of them,

since then the quality has improved. and if you are not happy with these blanks the company supplying them will take them back and sub jma blanks.

:D Thanks for the info on that - It is good to here the blanks are getting better - :D

You are right - different companies will say different things to try and make you spend money with them - I guess it is really the way of Trade Life :!: I Hope I am just adding views to help in general as alot of people do talk to me daily and to pass them on on here everyso often - i think could and should help people make their own choices :)

Again - I can only go on what I am told mainly - And knowing more info on these is all good. :) Thank you for your help on this matter :)

As mentioned above 23p is alot of money for a 1A BUT - I know (Deep down  ) all the suppliers would love to charge that as all these more popular sections of keys (in this case 1A) are the good old loss leaders for all the companies selling them :!:
