Mike at Vauxhall
I'm not a locksmith. I have a friend has asked me to ask you lot. He has a 3 point front door lock. (His description). The lock is being troublesome. Can only the lock mechanism be changed, or does the whole lock structure need changing? Thank you Mike.

MarkD
Need more information really, is the problem with the turning the key part or the lifting the handle part? Does the lock operate correctly whilst the door is open? The cylinder can easily be changed, the main gearbox can be changed easily on most of them. grahamparker
Lubrication helps (but never ever use WD40). A lot of multi point UPVC mechanisms can be brought back to good as new by being lubricated in the right areas.
Peaky
As already mentioned is it the cylinder or the strip? If the door works fine when it's open it likely needs the door adjusting on its hinges if they allow it. If its not then the gearbox or strip needs looking at. If the key is not turning or not smooth when turning its a badly cut or worn key or the euro cylinder is failing. More info needed.
