grahamparker
Do any of you guys charge extra for cutting broken/snapped keys ?. I have never charged extra for doing this but i have just had a 4 side cut sx9ap berlingo key in snapped into 4 pieces by the customer (god only knows how they did that) but it took me nearly 10 minutes to figure out the cuts before using the unocode399 to cut the key. As it took so long i added an extra £2.50 to the price as it was only a door lock key. The customer then said thanks and gave me an extra £10.00 tip, and this made me think maybee i should add a charge to cut broken keys. Any thoughts. ? jkamboj
Why not to charge extra when you go an extra mile to duplicate customers damaged or broken key with your expertise. I do come across customers who bring their broken auto keys or house keys. I use to cut these keys at three times the regular price (with regular key cutting machine) but now I have a code key cutting machine, now, I decode the key and cut the key on the code machine, price goes up with decoding the key and cutting it with code key cutting machine. I have not heard people crying to pay this price, because I convince the customer that this is the only way to go to make this key and they get brand new key cut perfectly to factory setting cuts. Carry on... Jas
