just had a customer in

i cut a yale key this morning

shes just come back in stating

she tried it in the front door outside ,bit tight going in so she took it out n rammed it in to the inside [euro lock ]

& now its stuck ,,jammed compleatly :(

luckly its only down the road ,

i did say that if that i get a locksmith out & they find that theres a problem with lock she would ge billed

or i have a look after work & see what the cause of the problem is

at the moment the doors locked key jammed , her key yale the one i cut just a standard 1a

i had similar thing 2 weeks ago,the key i cut was a 1a,went in outside of door but not inside, and they key i cut it from was a Timpson 1a,she then told me she had same problem the last time she got keys cut and that her own key was stiff going into the lock,i re cut onto a ul1 but did tell her sounds like she has a fault with her lock

I would have done that on a UL1, slightly thinner.

i was lucky,my key never jammed in the lock and as the customer han't came back i take it it worked, either that or she changed the lock over, should be easy to change the barrell if you have them in stock

here it goes

i goes down to the customers house ,my key stuck on the inside well jammed ,i grabbed the end & wiggled it out ,exammened the key not even a burr on the brass key ,??but all over the flutes was soaking in wd40 ?? she said she sprayed the lock from the outside ,

mark me wrong but the euro is 2 seperate locks inside & out so she had lagged the lock & whole espag in wd40 b4 entering the key into loosing all the gunged up shit ,errr why ??

i than tried her key in the outside of lock to find IT DIDNT WORK than it started to wk but sticky ,

my new keys finaly started to wk as well as her old one ,but the whoe espag & locking system was nackard ,

i did say that i was going to leave a new spare lock for them to fit, but it was down to them as there would be a chance that the lock would jam again & that it is nothing to do with my key cutting [the lock was held in with a verry small allen key grub screw not the common phillips screw .]

the lock didnt cost me as it was part of the old stock what i had bought

she was happy i went off feeling that it wasnt a fault from me

& to top it off if i had or she had called a locksmith i would of ended footing a bill for a dodgy bloody lock
