StevenB
Ooh, I'm so cross, I could scream. Had a delivery from a trophy wholesaler at the end of last week. When it came in I split it up into the various orders that were contained in it & put them aside to process in order. When I came to engrave one lot yesterday afternoon, I was short of some items. Knowing the presentation night was tonight I was straight on the phone explaining what items hadn't been sent & I clearly said that they were for a do tonight & they needed to be sent on an overnight delivery. At the time, I wasn't told that this wasn't possible. With no sign of the parcel, I've just spoken to the supplier only to be told that they were too busy to send them yesterday & they'll be sent tonight & with me tomorrow. Now I appreciate that 3pm is a bit late at this time of year to be placing an order for next day delivery, but what really annoys me is that they obviously knew when I was on the phone that they couldn't send them. Why could they not have said? If I'm told the truth at least I can work with it. As it is, I'm left scrabbling around at the last minute trying to scrape together enough trophies for the presentation, & looking stupid in front of my (new) customer. I'm afraid that's one account lost as I'm not prepared to put up with this sort of service any more. Yes, it's happened before. Listen suppliers, all we want is to be told the truth. Bullshi**ing doesn't work. Rant over. For now.

StevenB
It wasn't me I was referring to when it comes to bullshitting, it was the wholesaler. I've learnt over the years that it's best to just tell it like it is. That way you all know where you stand. And, no I'm not going to name names, before anyone asks! ANDY
real bummer mate, i hate shortages no offence, but if this is the straw that broke the camels back you should have had your eagle eyes on and checked em off the day they came in
StevenB
no offence, but if this is the straw that broke the camels backyou should have had your eagle eyes on and checked em off the day they came in Perhaps naively, I checked against the paperwork, which showed all items present & correct & then just put the bags aside to be done at the appropriate time. It was only when I came to engrave that I discovered the reality didn't match the paperwork. If it was a less busy time of year, I'd probably have picked up the error.
