alxfer
Got a zipless boot in which has a nice thick and soft fleecy lining. The lass can't wear them as one of the boots has seams doubled over at the heel, which is painful when she puts it on. I checked it and came up with a solution of fitting a Darnot heel cup. I have made a polythene 'tube' so I can get a glue brush on a stick down inside the boot to coat the heel base without gumming up the fleece liner. I have stitched a thin piece of leather onto the Darnot so that her heel slides over the edge of the heel cup everytime she puts the boot on. I then intend to stitch this leather extra onto the existing run of stitches at the heel. Has anyone any other tips or even an alternative way of achieving the same end result. The crux is her not pushing the heel cup down every time she puts the boot on. Oh, by the way, they are Ugg boots. She got them off tinternet from CHINA. And she wonders why they won't reply to her e mails to get some customer service! She is quite prepared to accept whatever I can do for her though. alxfer
Ye I gave a technical thwack with the hammer, to no avail. I got most of the back stitched around existing stitching run on heel. Wife explained what I had done and suggested using a shoe horn to ensure the Darnot didn't come away through use. So we sold a long shoe horn as well as money for the job. Result
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
A solution to fake UGG Boots is to put a stiffening on the out side, easier that working inside the bbots. Suede of the right colour and stiffening materail to go between the new outer cover and original.
