Patented key system means 20 years max protection (always phone manufacturer and ask if patent is still active.)

Copyrighted keys dont exist after 1999.

Restricted keys mean that the key is unusual and more than likely cant be copied on the high street.(unless your k4mrc)

CLARITY?

carry on!

Guest Lock N Safe Buddy

Patents actually expire after 20 years  . We supply 4 different Patented systems for various applications. We supply and fit cylinders which the keys are difficult for heel bars to copy or find the blank difficult to source. This is to achieve more return business full stop  . We have to try to protect our business, if heel bars installed locks they would do the same. But we would never install a cylinder where the keys were impossible to source locally, unless the customer wants that of course. All our keys are clearly marked with our details, so everyone knows where to obtain them, and we charge the same price as "standards". We ask for authorisation for all expired patented or copyright keys as we are MLA members so this is a requirement. Seems to me most key cutters are not interested in their customers security only lining their own pockets [-X
