In my honest opinion and as a lOCKSMITH OF SOME STANDING NOW ALMOST RETIRED, FIND ANOTHER JOB....

There are 30 new starts per head of the population, and many going pop- especially good guys, We cant compete with hobby locksmiths, part time locksmiths and those on the dole doing a job for £10.00.

Picking locks is bollox - there are now huge numbers of unpickable -none bumpable cylinders, its not about picking its about service, installation, fault finding, do you know how to toe and heel a door, do you know how to upgrade a MPL, do you know how to repair damaged door sections, do you know what a sashlock is, a deadlock, a nightlatch...............

forget picking learn to be a door engineer first.

There are a number of training establishments that will happily relieve you of wads and teach you bugger all, and I am sorry to say most true locksmiths will no longer train, its called shooting yourself in the foot. ask me how I know sometime. ...................................................BANG!

You would like someone local to show you ?

A common question that the answer is the same and slightly obvious at the end of the day.

No local locksmith is going to show you how to pick locks , why would he want to , its pure madness ! look at what you are asking for.

you want a local locksmith to spend his time teaching you to pick locks , and to be competition against him for this work and dilute his workload even further ? there is very little work around due to a flooded market , flooded in recent years with every trade wanting to add lock opening to what they do.

sadly you have little chance of getting a local lockie to train you.

there are many courses to choose from , and all will teach you opening, some well and most badly .
