More Victims of the Credit Crunch??

I had a customer in this morning,

Brought in a pair of its hide stitch track shoes for through soles, Not bad concidering I've only been here just over a year. \:D/

 

hope you scoured the heel area before you stitched 'em

I did Rick, and took photos, they weren't welted all the way round the heel, but the manufacturers had stitched all the way round

Today shoes have been quiet really, but other services have been busy, so it goes to show you need to do all the services that other quality companies do. Or your trade will be seasonal instead of other things taking over when the shoes dry up a little, such as engraved wedding gifts in the summer.

I started my shop during the recession of '89 & whilst i'm not the busiest or the best in the country I have survived ever since.

 

I think the trade is far from decline, there are some strong incentives offered to those who work for others, to make starting there own business a higher risk.

 

Sure there may be less shop door ways, but I wander how many the industry as a "whole" employs today compared to ten years ago? I would think this total "may" have gone up rather than down.
