Hugh-Candoit (ENG) Posted July 23, 2008 Report Share Posted July 23, 2008 Quite correct and well thought out Keith, I did use waxed thread, not only waxed thread but wax in the pot too. Stitching through soft PVConly gives a hole the same size as the needle and the waxed thread fills this up, especially when hammered with a No3 double headed hammer. Nice one Hibs You were right in part, the welted were tested that way. It was also a method of proving to customers that "Derry" boots and "Wellies" did not let in water and that it was a condensation problem caused by hot feet cold boots.
