k4mrc Posted April 18, 2008 Report Share Posted April 18, 2008 how hard can it be to make 'coat-a-sole bottom stain,' since the fire, we have tried every other suppliers make - and there all like water! and no colour to them! we have tried the birch one, colledges tarrago, etc; does anyone know where we can get a GOOD replacement? If I was in this situation I would be trying Turmeric in a light solvent base. Several of the Wood polishes from the Pine outlets give a good finish as do wood Dyes thinned down with solvent. Craig Gardner Posted April 26, 2008 Report Share Posted April 26, 2008 i use birches 406 sole stain not as good as the old stuff i apply 2 or 3 coates if stiched with a sponge when dry a light coat of clear gloss brings out the colour.
