Andy_Davenport
Thanks for the kind words buddy Regarding the disney keys, the original batches were fine, our source later switched to Spanish made blanks and this is when the problems began. I must also point out though, considering the massive volume of disney key sales, there are very few breakages. Even so, this is not good, hence the switch to our own specification key blanks. k4mrc
I have to give credit were its due, I've never had an issue with Davenport Burgess's English made blanks, never had any break and the profiles are acurate. However my shoe repair rep is always pounding me with how cheap they are on there chinese blanks, and I have surcome to his sales pitch a few times when its been more convieniant. But have had lots of trouble with them, 16hl, 36m, don't work because the profile isn't correct, UL1's do twist on the ocassion that I have to use them. Cheap chinese blanks are not the way for me. I don't use cheap and nasty shoe repair materials so why use inferior key blank products. Its Davenport Burgess all the way for me. agree totally with uk900 - they, 'DAVENPORT BURGESS' are the very BEST! always there to help, any time i have a problem, they are always there to help. i am also fed up with the tactics of there competitors, always knocking the prices, but look worldwide, brass, steel, copper - all prices going up! BUT DAVENPORT BURGESS - quality NEVER goes down! if you had to make key blanks, you would try things new, and occaisionally it would be wrong. but they will do there upmost to put it right! 10 out of 10 every time - even the girls on the phone, there product knowledge is better than 'some key cutters' i know! so - if you need a quality supplier - give en a call, they will send the right bland 9999 times out of 9999! which is one thing another supplier i use cannot do - the saying "if you want your car fixed use a car mechanic" is so true in this case. key cabin
Now before i start, i am not on here to kiss butt. I have been cutting keys for a long time now and have used keys made in England to timbucktoo. I have used various suppliers,SKS, Charles Birch & Northwest Keys to name a few, and must admit have found most of them very helpfull. Just recently (and by recomendation) i have started using Davenport Burgess for most of my locksmithing and key cutting supplies. The sales people are the friendliest ladies i have ever spoken to on a phone, very profesional in thier knowledge of the stock sold =D> , but , (you knew it was comming ) my only gripe is with the webb site promised, if it was my company i would be kicking someones backside sore and not allowing them home untill it was up and running. They must be losing thousands, and as i have been told that there will be much more on the site than is in the currant cataloug its so anoying to go to the site every day just to see the same page telling you it will be up and running shortly. The girls on the phones must be sick of telling customers of the new release dates. Now come on Andy you have a very proffesional outfit there, and i wish you all the best in the future, i just hope this new webb site is going to be worth waiting for. I have been cutting keys for 15 years now mainly self employed but worked for the big nationals in the early days.i have used most key suppliers and i know Davenport seems to be the favorite key supplier from you guys on the form but i tend to only use them if i am desperate and my main supplier sks is out of stock. So i dont even place an order once a month that may be why the level of service i get is very poor compared to SKS. My main reasons for not using Davenports is if i place an order at 10am in the morning i expect it next day Davenport has never managed to get me a delivery in less than 3 days always the same excuse oh we are very busy the now in the warehouse it will be with you asap. A rep with no product knowlage who mainly reps hardware for another company into diy stores.I now get my disney keys from SKS and have only had 2 faulty ones out of about 300 sold.Sks always manage next day delivery for me even at lunch time and i prefer the layout of their boards which i use in my shop and van. Guest bigstu
when key manufacturers make these keys is there not a quality control - bsi standard they have to follow? seems to me they can churn out almost any old cra* and get away with it! yes we have very good quality control not like chinese .you dont pay less for best

All looking good this end as well - I can not remember the last time anyone had a problem with them . So All good
