Guest Phill
There are four types of Chubb RKS blanks, One 3G110 Chubb wide bit size, old RKS with a bullet cut and design stamped on it Available from Dave @ Chubb Safes and Spares, but not quite that straight forward you have to post them the key and they cut it and send it back at a cost of £15+VAT. We charge around £40 each Two 3G114,3U114,3K74 & 3U74 Chubb standard size bit old RKS with a square pin, this is probably the one you get most of, locks no longer made but loads of them fitted. I get my blanks direct from Chubb, cost around £1.50 each Three 3G110 Chubb wide bit new RKS only available to Chubb RKS dealers (they have a triangular pin) Four 3G114,3U114,3K74 & 3U74 Chubb standard bit New RKS with a triangular pin, again only available to RKS Dealers Which ones are you getting asked for? kobblers
it says do not duplicate do you have to be licensed by chubb to be able to cut them?
Guest Phill
Alot of keys say this, Some of the best keys have, security proceedures apply What is a security proceedure The RKS old key K744-50 with the square pin, at the top of the picture was changed because if you cut them on a standard 8g mortice key you can get it to work So a few years ago Chubb re launched the (RestrictedKeySystem)RKS with the new triangular type key blank. These are patented and can only be copied by Chubb RKS dealers. Every RKS lock we fit, the keys are stamped with our centre number which means another RKS dealer will not copy it and vice vercer. No restriction applies to the old style RKS keys anymore [/b]
