keyfast
the machine your are talking about is from silca and is a few years away from going on sale, plus it will cost you 1000's of pounds to buy, the machine + cumputer + software. and it will only be able to copy ford blue top keys, how many blue top keys to you get ask for to spent out that kind of cash ?????? also add the cost of the key blank, look at the cost of a superchip key blank to do the red top keys, not alot of profit in it. GARYUnwin
the one i mean is from another large key supplier, not silca and should be on sale end of summer or autunm this year. silca one on show this week end but only with one crypto key of theirs. first of many. GARYUnwin
IT IS ONLY POSSIBLE TO FOLLOW TRANSPONDER SYSTEMS WHEN THEY ARE USED NOT BEFORE. SUPPLIERS CAN ONLY TRY , SPENDING TIME AND MONEY TO KEEP UP WITH NEW SYSTEMS
kobblers
cripes, no wonder we don't bother with the transponder technology it seems like you're just outlaying cash all the time to keep abreast of everything.

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
ITS WAY KEYS ARE going for added security, got to help cutting down on car crime. It actually is the reverse, and to the vehicle owners detriment. Previously we had the window smashed, the door prised or wired/rulered in order to open the door. The vehicle was then hot wired and the thief drove off in you prized posession. Compensation followed at a later date. Now thbecause of not being able to hot wire and sofisicated alarms they just ask you firmly for the keys and drive off. Now try to explain that you gave the keys to the thief to the insurance company. One scam on carparks is the paper bag stuck on the back window and as you get out to remove it the thief jumps in and drives off. Try explaining to the insurers that you left the keys in the ignition with the engine running.
kobblers
i agree hugh. my point in general though is how much money do you have to keep laying out to keep abreast of things with the car key technology? aren't the manufacturers just going to keep changing the technology and software, after all, it's in their interests to just limit their main dealers to supplying keys at extortionate prices. and say, if in the next 5-10 years they produce keyless technology on a much larger scale than they are now, what then? you'd be suckered if you hadn't made your initial investment back on what you have now or intend to upgrade to in the next 3-5 years. Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
You dont honestly believe that the manufacturers will allow you to take good profit from them when they can sew the market up? Put your accounting head on for a few minutes and think what you would do in their position.

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Nah, my words were different from yours, anyway you said that they would keep a-changing. No need to change all the time, just bring out the fingerprint or eye contact recognition system then I'll chop their finger ends off and gouge their eyeballs out to stick on the point of contact next time I go to rob a car!! Once had a friend who is no longer with us that had an up-market car that he had fitted with the latest alarm system and tracker. Twas gone off the drive next morning with the alarm and tracker system neatly folded up on the drive where his car had been. They sprayed washing up liquid along his drive behind the tyres and pulled it onto some sorm of low loader.

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
haha, i'm having the week off will think about you all whilst i'm decorating my lounge. If you stopped throwing your sunday dinners up the wall after going to the pub you would not need to re-decorate so often. Covering the walls with Topy stick-on-soles is rather extravagant isn't it Rick, I know there are advantages in using trade materials for home use but this takes the biscuit. Not got the hang of wallpaper adhesive yet, so you have to use a covering that takes Polycloroprene used by the "sniffers". Or are you sticking/nailing "KEYS" all over the wall. Hey, bet Lee could print you some graphics instead of traditional wall paper.
