hibsjo(SCO)
how do you find the paste Craig? is there much wastage on it? only ever used the spray which has loads of wastage carry on!
Craig Gardner
No wastage at all keep a pot of water for cleaning off after engraving for example a fully sprayed hip flask only getting a logo in bottom corner has 90% of the spray wasted rinse in pot of water after rinsing aprox 300 items boil up water till all water evaporates and you will have about 75% of the paste you never used back ready to reuse . Mix with isopropanol and spray from a compressor gun much finer spray than aresol. I once worked out that a aerosol of cermark lmm6000 could fully spray 127 6 oz hip flasks so at around £100 plus vat it worked out at £1 a flask to expensive if you ask me. By diluting the paste with isoproponal the cost per flask reduces to under 20p each. We reckon that if you wash of and reuse and ruse and reuse the paste a flask full spray works out less than 5p And once dry it stays on until washed off unlike that crappy grey thermark. Craig Gardner
I hope that post made sense joe as I was typing it whilst at the poolside cruising the Caribbean I'll be home next week if you want to call for dilution ratios etc Craig
Lee
it made sense to me, I didn't realise there was this hidden cost to laser engraving. but as always I can see why Craig is cruising the Caribbean entrepreneur through and through. Craig Gardner
This extra expense is only for engraving on metal to get a black finish with a co2 laser the fibre laser does not need pre sprayed and engraves much faster we have now perfected hip flask and glass tankard engraving full front designs even loads of text around 15 lines 8 words per line engraved in less than 60 seconds. You can't beet free wifi now a days on a cruise ship it's just about as fast as 4g although my wife is moaning I am working to much whilst on holiday Craig
cobkey
Thanks Craig, £1000 for 4 bottles! holy crap that's expensive. We're do you purchase it from? Matt
Craig Gardner
Trotec but that only works out at around £250 a bottle and a bottle of paste can if used wisemy can last the same as around 8 to 10 aerosols and that's a quarter of the price as a aerosol is around £100 plus vat so about 20 p an item rather than £1 an item when using it.
