smokedog
Have a pair of Ladies Superdry boots in, they look much the same as Ugg boots. The lady wanted new heels and soles, phoned my supplier they didn't have any sole units, so they sent me Moncayo branded Natural heels and natural half sole. So I prepared the job used 6092 glue the heels have taken perfectly but the soles will not stick just around the top of the sole. Still very new to this profession, this is the first pair I have had with a problem like this. Should I be using primer or am I doing something stupid ? Any help would be much appreciated. Lee
Personally I'd have done these with a through sole probably using something like zephir micro, as it would probably be similar in flex & wear to the originals. I'd never do something like these with separates myself. I haven't done any either, you sure they weren't thermoplastic? when you ground the heels down did the original unit have a grid moulded into it? did it grind bitty? I can always do them for you at a trade price. Lee
smokedog
Hi Lee yes it sounds like it might be Thermo Plastic, it doesnt melt like plastic, comes off more bitty like you say. Definitively doesn't seem like rubber Does that mean i should have been using a primer, or different glue? Like i have said in previous posts I live in Northern Ireland, Our main supplier is very limited compared to what you guys have in the main land, Also I have taken over from a guy who was very set in his ways. Trying to get more information really.
Lee
Yellow rehagol primer & a thermo plastic suitable glue. your wholesaler should be able to advice what they have. but 6092 won't work on thermo
smokedog
Thank you Lee I will try my supplier in the morning , if not i see the leather Grindery have some. I must admit I did not think half sole and heal was the best idea, time to broaden my horizons more with different suppliers. Ps will keep you in mind for trade jobs in the future. smokedog
I have PA5050, it seems to be suitable for Thermo plastic, so hopefully it's just a primer i need now.

The 50/50 works great with rehagol. Get the soles nice and warm before pressing and make sure all air is squeezed out. If it is thermo, then pvc soles/heels will stick like you know what to a blanket.
